The Laggan Way of Life
Families have been living and working in the Laggan since prehistoric times. A few reminders of these early inhabitants are still to be found, including the standing stone at Rockfield, near St Johnston. In more recent centuries the most significant development was the arrival of large numbers of settlers from Scotland during the 1600s. They brought with them many of their traditions and practices, but they also adapted to their new environment in County Donegal. This room will tell you more about their way of life.
